The PADI IE in Phuket, Thailand consists of a variety of different exams and tasks over two days, culminating in your graduation ceremony. The different parts and general timetable for the IE is explained below.
Day 1 – Saturday
IE Orientation and Registration: Time: 7:30 AM
Location: Alpina Phuket Nalina Resort & Spa: 7/1 Ketkwan Road, Kata Beach, Karon District, A.Muang Phuket 83100 Thailand
The IE is a standardized, objective evaluation conducted by Instructor Examiners from PADI Asia-Pacific Headquarters.

8:30am – Commence Theory and Standards Exams
5-part theory exam Physics, Physiology, Equipment, Skills & Environment and the PADI Recreational Dive Planner – multiple choice, true/false, 12 questions
PADI Systems, Standards & Procedures exam – multiple choice, open book, 50 question exam – 90 minutes
12:00pm – Classroom Presentations
2:30pm – Confined Water Presentations – Kata Big Rock Pool
Demonstrate a five skill circuit as detailed by the Examiners
Perform 1 Confined Water Teaching Presentation
Day 2 – Sunday
7:30am – Kata Beach – PADI Briefing
Perform 1 Open Water Teaching Presentation with two skills
8:30am – Rescue Scenarios – Open Water Presentations
11:30am – Closing Ceremony
