The Structure Of Your IDC Course In Phuket With Aussie Divers
A full PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) takes 12 days to complete, with 2 days immediately after that for your PADI Instructor Exams (IE) in Phuket.
At Aussie Divers Phuket we do encourage our PADI IDC candidates to arrive in Phuket a few days prior to starting the PADI IDC program. This gives you some extra preparation time, a chance to settle in, and the ability to get some dives in prior to taking on the PADI IDC program.
The basic timetable for an Instructor Development Course is below.
|-5 to 0||Diving, EFR Renewal, IDC Prep|
|0 – 5||Part 1: Assistant Instructor [AI]|
|5 – 12||Part 2: Open Water Scuba Instructor [OWSI]|
|13 – 14||Instructor Examination [IE]|
|15 – 20||Specialty Instructor Training|
Aussie Divers Phuket offers early PADI IDC prep dates a few days prior to the start of your IDC program. These are several days that are put aside for you to use our classroom for any study you wish to do before the PADI IDC begins.
If you need to do some diving before the IDC to refresh skills or just for fun, you need to do them before the IDC begins. There is absolutely no room or time after an IDC begins for fun diving activities.
EFR renewal if required needs to be completed before the IDC begins!
After successful completion of your PADI IDC and PADI IE, the PADI Specialty Instructor training is not a set number of days. This can be done in 3-4 days after the Phuket IE and depends on the number of specialties you are completing with us.
