Ben Ritter – PADI Divemaster

When I traveled to Thailand to teach English, I was fortunate enough to be able to work and live in Phuket. When it came time to try out scuba diving, I had the monumental task of deciding on which PADI dive shop I would choose to take my courses. You’ll find so many dive shops in the province of Phuket alone, which is why I feel so lucky to have found Aussie Divers Phuket.

I first reached out to the dive shop via email, they were quick to respond with professionalism and from that moment on I was in good hands. I stayed with Aussie Divers from the PADI Advanced course all the way through PADI Divemaster a few months later. I’m sure if I had studied with a different shop, I would not have fallen in love with diving the way I did. This dive shop, run by PADI Course Director Darren Gaspari, prioritizes diver safety and customer service above all. I learned so much from my instructors, Ash Walker (PADI Master Instructor) and Martin Ruhoff (PADI MSDT), who prepared me well for my goal of guiding scuba divers towards the end of my professional level Divemaster course.

If you are looking for a safe, fun, and exciting dive experience in southern Thailand, Aussie Divers is the shop for you. If you want to advance your skills as a dive professional, look no further. My PADI Divemaster certification means more to me because of who I got to work with at Aussie Divers and hopefully I will be back diving with them again soon!

How to do a PADI IDC Rescue #7 – Unconscious Diver at the Surface

PADI place a lot of emphasis on the skill Unconscious Diver at the Surface or what is commonly known as Rescue #7. It is a skill that you had to do in your PADI Rescue Course, your PADI Divemaster Course, at you Instructor Examination and if you go on to be a PADI Course Director you will have to do it at your CDTC. There can be slight variations on how the skill is performed. In real life, adjustments could have to be made depending on weather and wave height. There could be adjustments made because of the size/weight of the victim and the rescuer, particularly if you have a small rescuer and large victim. However, there are four [...]

PADI Divemaster – Aya Terauchi

I am a world traveler and I have a lifetime bucket list. Scuba diving is one of them. I got certified PADI Open Water Course in Hawaii in 2013, which I really enjoyed and was satisfied with the fact that "I did it, bucket list checked." I have not had a chance to go diving since then until my friend introduced Aussie Divers in 2015. I did fun dives at Koh Phi Phi and Racha Noi/Yai. I discovered diving in Phuket was amazing with colorful coral reefs and active marine life. I fell in love with scuba diving again! I went back to Hawaii to do PADI Advanced Open Water Course and came back to Phuket to do rescue and ERP with Aussie Diver [...]
